About Us

About Stuart Steven Dental Practice Edinburgh

Mr. Steven initially opened his Edinburgh dental practice way back in 1998, on Chester Street. It operated as a single-handed surgery, with only one chair available.

Fortunately, much has changed since then. As the need for quality dentistry grew in Edinburgh, so did Mr. Steven’s practice, and in 2004 the current practice was purchased. Just one short year later the surgery was expanded to a purpose-built, three-surgery practice.

The Stuart Steven Dental Practice quickly began to make a positive name for itself in the world of Edinburgh dentistry, and in 2011 a further surgery was added to the practice. Mr. Steven also invested heavily in cutting-edge dental equipment, adding enhanced sterilisation facilities and a state-of-the-art x-ray suite.

These ongoing improvements have helped place the Stuart Steven Dental Practice at the gold standard for equipment and facilities and allowed Mr. Steven to set himself apart as a premium, trusted dentist in Edinburgh.

To experience our high-end Edinburgh dental practice and quality dental services for yourself, don’t hesitate to contact our practice on 0131 229 7899 or conveniently register as a new patient online to have all your dental needs met.

Most patients should visit the dentist every 6 months.
However, depending on your oral health, your dentist may recommend more frequent appointments—such as every 3–9 months—to monitor specific conditions like gum disease or tooth wear.

Regular visits help detect issues early, keep your teeth and gums healthy, and reduce the need for more complex treatment.

Your first appointment usually includes:

  1. A full oral health assessment
We examine your teeth, gums, soft tissues, bite, and existing dental work.

  2. X‑rays (if needed)
These help us see areas not visible during a visual exam.

  3. Discussion of any concerns
Pain, sensitivity, cosmetic goals—anything you’d like us to focus on.

  4. Personalised treatment plan
We explain any recommended treatments, costs, and next steps.

  5. A hygiene assessment
We’ll advise on cleaning techniques and may book a hygiene visit if required.

This appointment is relaxed and designed to help us understand your dental needs.
