What is a smile makeover?

As the name suggests, a smile makeover is a dental service that is designed to improve the look and health of your smile. Instead of using just one treatment, such as teeth whitening or veneers, a smile makeover uses a combination of treatment types to tackle a series of issues in order to produce a perfect smile.

We recommend mini smile makeovers to patients who do not require extensive dental work to achieve a dazzling new smile. A mini smile makeover tends to involve treatments such as:

Often with a mini smile makeover your dentist will recommend only one or two of these treatments, such as tooth coloured filler to fill in gaps, or veneers to cover up any chipped or discoloured teeth.

You’d be amazed at how much of a difference a mini smile makeover can make not only to your smile and oral health, but also to your confidence!

Examples of our mini smile makeovers

Shown below are some patient cases illustrating the fantastic results our mini smile makeover treatment can achieve, with before and after images shown for each case.

In the two cases highlighted below the patient was unhappy with the space between their front teeth and wanted to brighten up and improve the overall look of their smile.

As you can see, both smiles have been restored in a very minimal manner. The addition of tooth coloured filling material is there to fill in the gaps between the front teeth. The filler has also been shaped and polished to match the surrounding enamel and was then bonded to the underlying tooth, with no adjustment required.

For this third patient case, the focus was on repairing a broken tooth from a fall. We also provided a mini makeover to the rest of the teeth, giving them a natural white look.

Most patients should visit the dentist every 6 months.
However, depending on your oral health, your dentist may recommend more frequent appointments—such as every 3–9 months—to monitor specific conditions like gum disease or tooth wear.

Regular visits help detect issues early, keep your teeth and gums healthy, and reduce the need for more complex treatment.

Your first appointment usually includes:

  1. A full oral health assessment
We examine your teeth, gums, soft tissues, bite, and existing dental work.

  2. X‑rays (if needed)
These help us see areas not visible during a visual exam.

  3. Discussion of any concerns
Pain, sensitivity, cosmetic goals—anything you’d like us to focus on.

  4. Personalised treatment plan
We explain any recommended treatments, costs, and next steps.

  5. A hygiene assessment
We’ll advise on cleaning techniques and may book a hygiene visit if required.

This appointment is relaxed and designed to help us understand your dental needs.
